Happy New Year! I know this post is a little late, but the year has been a wild ride already. New Year's is becoming one of my favorite holidays because I love the feeling of starting fresh. I love to sit down, plan things, and get organized. I always set goals for the year, and the past few years I've created a vision board. It's becoming a little tradition for me. I put the goals I want to achieve during the year on there along with some quotes I like and images to set the vibe for the year. Last year, I met almost all the goals on my vision board, so this year I started from scratch.

A Harry Potter Christmas
Every year, Alex and I do a DIY photoshoot for our Christmas card, and this year we decided to do a Harry Potter theme. We are both huge Potterheads and have been massive fans of the series since we were in grade school. We even have a HP themed Christmas tree in our bedroom and Harry Potter tattoos. The only thing is, we are in separate houses, rival houses. You guessed it. He's a Slytherin, and I'm a Gryffindor. Needless to say, I thought this was a perfect opportunity for a "House Divided" Christmas card. Here are the photos from the shoot.

Making Mince Pies
I've got something sweet for y'all today! Since I am completely obsessed with all things to do with England, I decided that I was making some mincemeat pies this Christmas. Mince pies aren't really a huge thing here in the states, so you can't go to the grocery store and by pre-made mincemeat. So imagine my excitement when I found out that my mama and my aunt made some this Summer and canned it for the Winter. I don't think I have ever been so excited about jared fruit in my life! So here is how I made my first mince pies.

Family Fun on the Farm
Last weekend, my cousins and I went to Seward Farm for a little Fall fun! We spent the day going through a corn maze, sipping hand-squeezed lemonade, and watching pig races. I decided to go for a casual but cute outfit that consisted of my favorite American Eagle jeans and a white t-shirt. I topped it off with an army green military jacket and a fringe cross-body from Lucky Brand and a hat from Aeropostale. Since I never miss an opportunity to accessorize, I paired the outfit with a gold laurent necklace from Walmart and my gold and tortoise Michael Kors watch. To finish off the outfit, I chose a pair of brown booties made by Rock and Candy.

Happy Fall Y'all!
It's finally Fall y'all! Even though it really only feels like Fall in the morning right now, there is just something about the Fall season that I anticipate all year. I absolutely love everything about the autumnal season. Everything from pumpkin carving to bonfires makes me unexplainably happy. So in the spirit of Fall, I wore my first Fall outfit yesterday.

Spray Tans and Casual Wear
Last night, Alex and I went to support our good friend Nick in his first bodybuilding competition, the Heart of Dixie. I had a new outfit to wear, but the weather has been awful all week, so I changed my mind at the last minute.

What I Got for Christmas 2015
We has such a fun Christmas this year! We spent a lot of time with family and got to see friends that we haven't seen in a while. We ate tons of good food, and received a lot of great gifts. Now, I know that Christmas is not about gifts, but one of my favorite holiday traditions is watching "What I Got For Christmas" videos on YouTube. I just love seeing people's gift ideas and seeing people get so excited about what their friends and family gave them for Christmas. So, since I'm more of a blogger than a YouTuber, I thought I would share with y'all some of the things I got for Christmas in this post.

Whiskey In Teacups: The Life of a Southern Belle
After having to run a blog for a class project, I decided that I loved it so much that I wanted to run my own. Then I had to decide what in the world would be the focus for my blog. I wanted my blog to reflect me in every way, so a lifestyle blog about how to live country and classy at the same time fit me perfectly. I wanted to be able to connect myself with the rest of the world and share my life and interest with anyone who was interested, so Whiskey In Teacups was born.
Some of you may be wondering what the significance of the name Whiskey In Teacups is. Well, a southern belle is a lot like a teacup full of whiskey. On the outside she is beautiful and delicate like a teacup, but on the inside she is strong and refined, like whiskey. Being raised in the South, I was taught to always conduct myself like a lady, but be able to get my hands dirty and be independent at the same time. Being a lady in the south means being classy and country at the same time, and that is the purpose of my blog. Everything from fitness to fashion and DIY to beauty products interest me, and I want to share all of those things with y'all!
